This was my first project in Unreal Engine 5. The main purpose was to learn its various tools and capabilities so I can add it to my list of game dev tools. Being a learning experience of the engine and its basics, I decided to take 1 week and tackle a small environmental project by using the skills I accumulated over the years and create a little scene.
To learn the Landscape and Foliage tool, I decided to use a free online package (credit to : Medieval Game Environment) to use their foliage/nature models to create the main environment. This allowed me to focus on the tool itself and not worry about asset creation to start. Although, wanting to add my own personal touch, I decided to create all the ''man made'' props and aim at matching the style of the pack.
This experience was an amazing learning opportunity and got a small glimpse of what Unreal is capable of. I of course have way more to learn. I'm looking forward to seeing what else this engine can do. Thank you and I hope you enjoy my explorative work.
